Vitilan U7 Folding Fat Tire E-bike review

The U7 is designed for riders who want an accessible step-through frame combined with the versatility of a folding fat tire e-bike. Its low-step frame makes getting on and off easier, while the adjustable riding position is designed to accommodate riders approximately 5'3" to 6'5" tall.
With a listed payload capacity of up to 330 lbs, riders should still consider their height, riding position, and total carried load when deciding whether the U7 is the right fit.
The U7 uses a foldable frame, allowing the bike to take up less space when stored or transported than a comparable non-folding e-bike. This can be useful for riders with limited garage space or those who occasionally transport their bike by car or RV.
Because folding e-bikes can still be relatively heavy, riders should consider both available cargo space and how they plan to lift the bike. If compact storage is a priority, you can also compare Vitilan's foldable electric bikes.
The U7 is equipped with 20×4 fat tires, which provide a wider contact area with the ground than narrower bicycle tires. This can help improve stability, cushioning, and traction when a route includes rough pavement, gravel, dirt paths, or other uneven surfaces.
If wider tires are an important part of your riding needs, you can also compare Vitilan's fat tire electric bikes.
The U7 uses a 48V 20Ah removable lithium-ion battery and has a listed riding range of approximately 40–65 miles per charge.
Actual range can vary depending on rider weight, speed, terrain, pedal-assist level, tire pressure, weather conditions, and throttle use. Riders should treat the listed range as an estimate rather than a guaranteed distance for every trip.
The U7 combines a Shimano 7-speed drivetrain with five levels of pedal assist. The mechanical gears allow riders to adjust pedaling resistance for different speeds and terrain, while the pedal-assist levels determine how much motor support is provided.
Using the two systems together can make it easier to adapt to starts, hills, flatter roads, or changing riding conditions instead of relying on motor assistance alone.
The U7 combines a step-through frame with a foldable design, hydraulic disc brakes, front and rear suspension, an LED headlight, and a rear light with turn-signal functionality. These features can be useful for riders who frequently stop and start in urban traffic, encounter rough pavement, or need more convenient storage after a ride.
If daily trips and city riding are your main priorities, you can also explore Vitilan's electric commuter bikes.

AMAZING - Both the U7 and I7Pro - bikes, quality parts/manufacturing, packing/delivery, assembly, functions, company customer service. I never write reviews, but felt I really needed to, because it was the many reviews I've read and youtube videos I've watched which helped me decide on purchasing these two bikes...and I hope my review helps others. Note, I'm 6'2 210lbs, my wife is 5ft, 100-110lbs (LOL). I knew I was planning to purchase 2 folding bike for ease of transport throwing in my Ford expedition for local riding and vacations. Primarily boardwalks, some grassy/dirt gravel paths, (nothing crazy off-road - My wife and I are 50's and just looking for leisurely rides and some exploring during vacation (boardwalks, around town, etc) We like and want to explore...and wanted an e-bike for ability to assist with "road-inclines" and to feel confident on being able to "get back to our destination" after taking a long ride - without having to assess time/energy for the return. ). I researched Plenty of bikes...and knew I wanted 750w motor, quality battery (LG, Panasonic, Samsung), and a battery higher than 14ah, Folding fat-tire, and a form of suspension,.... Money wasn't really a factor. I looked at some great bikes (Addmotor, Lectric, and others)....and there are numerous very detailed Youtube reviewers who show you comparisons to speed, power for inclines, distance for batteries, etc...). After reviewing and comparing (and riding a few at various shops while vacationing in Virginia, NJ, and local places in NYC....) - I noticed many bikes in the same price range of the U7 and I7Pro do "not" have hydraulic brakes, and some - if you look closely didn't have suspension forks.... After much research I found both the U7 and I7Pro superior. (Not that the U7 "step-through" is a "womans" bike...but my wife got the U7, and I got myself the I7Pro. Both have hydraulic brakes, great batteries, etc...U7 has suspension forks and suspension seat post. And my I7Pro is Air suspension forks and full frame suspension. In additon to each coming loaded with headlight, turn signals, fenders, and rear rack. ...we also received two free upgraded Seats, Bike Lock, and Phone holder. OK...so....delivery and packaging was fantastic. Zero damage. Also, front tires were already assembled. (Wouldn't have been difficult to do....BUT, I've seen other assembly videos where some people have problems with the Disk Brake plate being warped/damages, or difficulty properly setting brake pads to work "correctly" without rubbing, wobbling, etc...) But not an issue with U7 or I7Pro. (if you have any slight "rubbing" check out YouTube...for numerous 2 minute tips and potential fixes). Next and perhaps the real reason I'm inclined to write this review....Vitilan has FANTASTIC customer service. (I had numerous "minor" questions/issues....and each time they responded within 24hrs, being tremendously professional and helpful with solutions. (One issue....not a problem....My wife is 5ft....and her U7 seat post has a spring suspension in it, which adds 2 inches hight from the floor for her feet to the ground. Even at lowest setting she was barely on her tip of toe....(and although many "riders" know your feet shouldn't be on the ground when seated and not riding...she still wanted to have that comfort so when we make casual stops - she can remain seated on the seat and have feet on ground. (Upon contacting vitilan...they offered to send a replacement seat post (without suspension) which would reduce the height. (her U7 came with water bottle holder....I7Pro didn't - so I went on Amazon and make a quick/cheap purchase. Oh...the Phone holder....strong/quality build..(I was surprised how well built it was....and almost every holder I've ever see is a form of cheap plastic...but vitilans is like solid steel. (no, really).....BUT you should know that even if your Smartphone is in an ultra thin case - is somewhat difficult to secure. (The side frame gaps are pretty thin and best if using a phone not in any protective case - Which I wouldn't do..(so forget about putting your phone in it if you have any type of "otter-box" or thick protective case for your phone. Will never fit). So again, just went on youtube to review various other bike phone holders...and make a quick cheap purchase on Amazon for like $10 bucks. As for bike quality, ride quality, etc...all Amazing. Gear shifters, Brakes, Suspension, Wiring, and everything else...all Fantastic. Wife and I couldn't be happier. Oh...by the way....I said I wanted a folding bike for throwing in back of our suvs....(Note....I'm 6'2", 210lbs in pretty good shape and workout semi-regularly. I'm a pretty strong guy....BUT KNOW...each bike folded up is each around 60lbs....(My wife 5ft 110lbs, could NEVER put the bike in/out of the SUV herself. (I told her if she ever wants to ride without me, she'd have to wave a jogger/biker down, smile at them and ask for a quick helpful hand. ). Otherwise...too heavy for her. Both bikes folded fit in my Ford Expedition. But are a bit difficult to fit in her Jeep Compas...which is more of a mid-size suv.). I went on Amazon and purchased a rear seat storage back which has various sections to it, and also foldable/retractable Pannier storage dropdowns...(for if when needing extra storage for either jackets, tennis racket, food.... ). Otherwise, roll up he Panniers and it's back into a regular rear storage bag. (I haven't taken photo's of both bikes yet...but will soon and try to add to this Review. Sorry for the long review...but again...couldn't be happier with both the U7 and I7Pro. Both are amazing, and the company and customer service is fantastic. Good luck with your decision making....and happy riding!

Every thing is fine except the rear rack is bent. Or the mounting holes on the bike are not in line. I can take it off and put it in a vice and try and bend it so it sits better. However I feel I should not have to. I don't think it was damaged in shipping, no damage on outside of box.

The hardest part of putting this bike together was taking it out of the box. Looks great! I have not got to drive it too much. It's winter here.

Love the torque and power of this bike. More fun, faster, and surprisingly more nimble than my Lectric XP 3.0- tons of smiles per mile with this bike. I took a few months researching and learning about a bunch of different bike at this price point... I'm glad I went with the Vitilan.

My wife decided to purchase our first electric bikes. After mounds of research, this is the one we chose.I will say pictures don’t do this bike justice. It’s very heavy duty and well-designed.The summer instead of driving to the restaurants, we ride our bikesIf you’re worried about the battery, trust me, you’re gonna go a few days and then some before a recharge. We can go for miles without breaking a sweat and explore. We originally bought these for camping, but we use them a ton during the week.Extremely happy with the quality of this bike and its performance. In fact, six of my family members have bought the same bike. The step through frame was kind of new to me, but trust me it is the best choice.Very nice components, tires and ease of use.My wife added a basket on the back that has a dog collar attachment for our small dog.I added a bag on mine, and we both added rearview cameras with the screen in front to see where each other was at while going down the trails.I can go on and on about this purchase. If thinking about it I would say do it. I promise you will not be disappointed. The bad!!!!Get yourself a better seat.Rather a gell slip on cover or a nice big cushy seat replacement. Why, cause u probably haven’t before but now you’ll be riding for miles. The seat is ok but it will be your only complaint.

I love my new bike! Boyfriend does too, says it has nicer finishes and options than his big brand bike. I worried about comfort when selecting a style, this bike is so comfortable to ride, I made the best choice. I hope everything holds up and no battery issues arise. I would definitely recommend this bike if you want more than a sidewalk cruiser. Friends compliment it everytime someone sees it. Colorado-ride!

Got 2 bikes. First one took 90 minutes to put together and the instructions and videos where not accurate. Our bike had been updated but the instructions and videos had not been. Was really a pain in the backside. The second one only took 30 minutes since we learned from the first bike. The instructions both book and videos do not cover how to use the screen so we have to do a YT search from a different company to learn how to operate it. The bikes did arrive a week early to that was a real surprise :-)

I got this bike after lots of research and spending hours reading reviews. I must say that it is a great bike! the speed reaches 30mph easily on the highest pedal assist mode. the battery life is good for daily usage. the folding makes the bike easy to carry around and the fact that you can take off the battery and charge it at your home makes it a lot easier. the assembly is not great though. you might need to take it to a bicycle repair shop to help with the assembly. overall, I love my new bike and am happy with my purchase.

Bob Leitner My wife and I both now have the Vitilan U7 It’s a well thought out bike. I weigh over 200 pounds and I don’t concern myself about climbing the hills in my area. And can go the long distance riding, averaging 20 to 30 Miles. The hydraulic brakes are so nice to have. The bike performs very well.

I love this bike. Very fast. Great on trails. I love that it can go up hill with no or very little hesitations. It also fits in the trunk of my dodge charger making it conviently to take it anywhere. Only dislike is it makes this noise when its on gear 6 and 7 on the pedal gear shifter. Overall a nice bike.

The vitilan u7 is a great bike. My wife and I both have one now. I appreciate the quality and all that this E bike has to offer. The 750W performs really well, it has plenty of power for going up hills.

The U7 changed my life! Now commuting to work is my favorite part of the day. Only problem is that it rides so fast, I have to remind myself to slow down and enjoy the ride fully! I would buy one in every color if I could.

I’m in my mid 70’s. I use my U7 every day for walking my dog and running errands. I’ve owned two Lectric bikes. XP 1 and XP2. Over 4000 miles. I also have a X7 pro Vitilan. So I think I have some ebike experience. This U7 is by far the best bike I’ve owned. I have the 20 amp battery. The distance on battery alone is over 30 miles. The power is smooth and strong. So are the brakes. Getting on and off is so easy. Once you get the hang of the cruise control it’s a real nice feature. I hope Vitilan customer service is good should I need it. One aspect to share is It is a bit heavy for loading.

Love this ebike. Has all the safety features I was looking for, which other brands don't include, which is strong hydraulic brakes, turn signals in back brake light that works without having headlights on, also brake light works independently from the headlight. Has a very strong headlight for night time biking and drivers, pedestrians can see you coming. Has a descent horn to alert people you are near by. Has good power in the different peddle assist modes and throttle, which can also be adjusted through the throttle pad and others features of the bike as well. Very good and stable ride on the street, sidewalk, grass, off road and with a comfortable seat, front suspension, which is adjustable, and a seat post suspension, the ride is pretty comfortable. Also comes with bike racks, front & rear, tools to make adjustments, if necessary, owners manual, ebike keys, battery charger (3 amp), 48 volt - 16 amp hour battery, front headlight extension cable for placing headlight on front rack and folding paddles. Ebike come pretty much assembled, you just need to install peddles and attach handle bars and seat post, check the air tire pressure, charge the battery, and your good to go. Front rack is optional to attach. Also, their website has additional accessories and parts so you can maintain or add other accessories to your bike as a bag or change your seat to a more cushioned seat. The only note to smaller riders, the seat position from a level floor is 35 inch, because of the 2 inches for the suspension in the seat post, which may make it hard to balance on, with shorter legs. Overall, very happy with the ease of setting up the bike, good quality, performance, value and was well packaged.

I really like this bike. I ride it everyday. However I had an issue that I had to fix. This issue is not specific to this bike, it appears to be an issue with most e-bikes at this price point. Even with that, I definitely recommend to buy this bike. It's very good, I generally get 40 mi to a charge. I'm really enjoying it, and the pink is an interesting color. It usually looks red or orange. It varies based on the lighting. So here is the minor issue which is why this is a four-star review and not a five star. I have seen other reviews that mention this as well. When you are going at a higher speed, at pedal assist level 4 and 5 you're basically ghost pedaling. There's absolutely no resistance and you might as well just pull on the throttle. So what I did to correct this issue is I upgraded the 48 tooth front crank wheel to a 60 tooth front crank wheel. This is the biggest size you can buy. I then had to purchase another chain so that I could add links to my chain. You're supposed to add a half link for every extra tooth. The added resistance from the additional 12 teeth means that I have the ability to pedal even at the highest speed. I would highly recommend that Vitalin considers making this adjustment standard on their bicycles. If the bike had come like that, this would be a five-star perfect e-bike. The upgrade cost me approximately $80 for all the parts and tools needed. It makes a huge difference in the experience of riding the bike. The installation took about an hour and a half and was without issues.

I had some major issues with a U7 that basically died a day after I received it (shipping was fast, bike was delivered in seven days). Vitalin support immediately sent out a new battery. They also sent a new controller and main cable just in case so as to not delay getting me up and riding. The new battery fixed the issue and the bike is awesome. I’m pleased with the bike and the service I received. I have turned several people onto to Vitalin’s bikes who were considering a bike from you know who. Vitalin is a higher quality bike which includes better components and many extras. Why wait months for a lesser bike when you can have a better one in a week?

Easy to get it going right out of the box. Great speed and power. Owner’s manual could be a little more explanatory. Would love to see a YouTube section with many short videos on the bike for repairs and operations. Guessing the China made tires will not last long. We will see. Overall I am seeing a really fun ebike.

The bike arrives very well packed and protected! It probably takes longer to unpack it than it does to put it together! (Which was easy and very little to do) I've had it a week now and put on over 110 miles!!! I've taken it camping, to the store, 8 miles to work, and just out for fun!!! Definitely turns heads and lots of questions from people! It rides great and has more power than I had expected! Absolutely love it!

I've exceeded the 55 mile range riding mainly in power assist level 3. I stopped at 57 miles with level 1 of 5 battery charge remaining. Another time I recharged after 50 miles with the battery level at 2. I didn't want to completely discharge the battery. Very pleased with the bike.

After doing extensive research, I purchased a green i7 pro and I liked it so much, I got my girlfriend a black U7. We ride them everywhere and couldn’t be happier. We get looks all the time and people actually take pics of them when they are parked. I added rubber hand grips to replace the stock I7 pro grips, and we both got the Vitalin bags for the back. The torque is amazing and I honestly don’t have to take it out of level 4 around town. The fat tires make the bumps as smooth as can be. Her favorite feature is the step-through, while mine is the power and having handlebars that you can raise, so you aren’t leaning over when riding. Personally speaking, if you are looking for a bike in this class, you can’t go wrong with the Vitilan I7 pro (or the U7). With regards to having fun, it is the best money I’ve ever spent. Customer support has also been perfect, as they’ve responded to every question I’ve had.

It’s a great bike and fun to ride. The only thing that I really had issues with is the baskets, the front one was the back bolts tore up the headlight housing and one the back basket you can’t remove the battery and when you get close to the bike you can’t see the rear lights.

I just took my U7 camping 🏕 with me. Loved it and so did alot of people. They would stop me and ask questions about it. I choose the U7 because I like the step through.
Paul A. 5/5 Verified
Had a fat tire e-bike prior to buying the U7 . It was a 36 volt, 350 watt motor older model that I put 5k miles on! The U7 is a Bentley compared to that one! The bike was easily assembled in about 15 minutes. I took it on a 25 mile test ride and it performed great, the torque was fantastic! Anything past a 3 power setting and gear selection of 7, the peddling becomes useless due to speed of bike! The bike handled well on the packed sand on beach, not so much on the powdered sand (front tire bogs down). The display is great at night, not so much in direct sunlight where it is difficult to read. A great purchase so far!

I ordered a U7 on Sunday, May 21. It shipped to my home on Tuesday May 23!! I do live in SoCal so I think that helped but man that was quick!!! My unboxing went well and all that was needed was to adjust the little screw inside the folding joint (see pic) as it was out a bit and preventing the full opening so the latch would catch. Also I had to adjust the derailleur. I also attached the rear basket so that the logo was in the rear… just had to drill a couple of holes. I think it fits better and the basket doesn’t hit when folded. VITILAN, I love my bike.

Just got a U7 and an I7 Pro. Both are great bikes and very different. The I7 was more expensive but if you just want to ride, I think the U7 is a better bike. The I7 Pro is the perfect bike for a hard core rider. We do love them both! Best bikes so far. It’s our second round (upgraded to keep up). Have fun with yours everyone! 😎
